St Martin’s Voices give an hour-long choral reflection on the Christmas story from the perspective of Mary. The programme includes works by Bruckner, Britten and Rutter, together the world premiere of Mary, Mother, a new carol sequence by Bob Chilcott with poetry by Georgia Way. The concert is introduced by Zeb Soanes (Presenter, Classic FM).
Opening the St Peter’s Church De Beauvoir Town Carol Service, a premiere of a brand new musical adaptation of the bittersweet tale of The Little Match Girl by Hans Christian Andersen. Classic FM presenter, Zeb Soanes, has collaborated with award-winning composer Louis Mander, to lovingly adapt Andersen’s text for a new musical work for narrator & piano.
Zeb will read his latest book Gaspard’s Christmas in the very church that features in the story, St Peter’s De Beauvoir. All proceeds from this special event will go to support the church’s ‘Warm Hub’ project. Refreshments served and a chance to buy signed books — the perfect personalised Christmas presents.

A show for all the family with words written by the nation’s much-loved poet Pam Ayres, tunes that go straight to the heart by composer Louis Mander. This World Premiere will be performed by members of The Hewletts Opera, narrated by Classic FM host and children’s author Zeb Soanes.
Zeb will read Gaspard Best in Show at the local fancy-dress dog show that inspired the story. Readings at 2pm and 3pm at St Peter’s Church, De Beauvoir, London. Books on sale in the crypt and available to be signed all day from 1.30 - 5pm. Come and enjoy this wonderful annual community event.

The debut of pianist Joseph Havlat’s cross-collaboration of Francis Poulenc’s Les Animaux modèles, with broadcaster and author Zeb Soanes as narrator. The second half features Camille Saint-Saëns’ The Carnival of the Animals. Zeb Soanes will perform Roger McGough's entertaining poems, specially written to accompany the music. A performance not to be missed consisting of two pianos, a string quintet, flute, clarinet and xylophone.

Festival patron, Zeb Soanes returns to Thaxted to perform two settings of Oscar Wilde’s much loved children’s tales, The Happy Prince and The Selfish Giant, rediscovered in the British Library by David Owen Norris. To complete the programme Zeb and David perform another favourite, Poulenc’s History of Babar the Little Elephant.
