Zeb Soanes… the go-to person for musical narration, specialising in children’s concerts.

Family concert at Thaxted Parish Church.

The familiar and well-loved voice of Zeb Soanes, our Festival Patron, will delight a younger audience with the musical adventures of Oscar Wilde’s fairy tales. The Selfish Giant is a classic, presented alongside another well-known tale, The Happy Prince. David Owen Norris recently discovered piano arrangements of Oscar Wilde children’s stories for piano and narrator by Liza Lehman, composed only ten years after Wilde’s death. Poulenc’s story of Babar is one of his most popular compositions. ‘It is in every respect a success, and one of the most accomplished works he has given to his instrument’ , according to French composer and music critic Guy Sacre.

Zeb Soanes’ skill in narration for children combines with the immense piano talents of well-known broadcaster and musical communicator David Owen Norris for a relaxed afternoon event which will enchant family members of all ages.
