Organist, Richard Stephens
This very special concert explores Lutheran chorales both as sung texts and as subjects for Bach’s inventive preludes and is punctuated by three readings from the Lutheran pastor, Dietrich Bonhoeffer. The singers perform verses in Bach’s harmonisation, followed by the organ Chorale prelude from Orgelbüchlein. The evening concludes with Monastic Compline and a final Chorale in which the audience is invited to sing.
